'Grimm' season 6 air date news, spoilers: Renard turns Nick into a fugitive as final chapter begins
All bets are off as a former strong ally becomes a much stronger enemy in the sixth and final season of "Grimm."
Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) seems to have gone full-on wicked warlock on Nick (David Giuntoli) and his crew in the official trailer of NBC's fantasy police procedural series. However, has the half-royal, half-zauberbiest antihero really flipped sides, or could this all be part of a personal agenda that serves a much bigger picture? One where nobody he cares about has to die in the hands of their true enemies.
There is also always the possibility that Renard's quest for power has already undermined that part of him that used to care. Either way, the actions of the dutiful captain of the Portland Police Department and newly elected town mayor is not always as they seem. Unless killing Nick has been his end game all along.
The trailer for the premiere episode of "Grimm" season 6 will find Nick on the run from a shoot-to-kill order issued on him by Renard himself. Titled "Fugitive," the episode will also feature Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) in a dilemma over possibly leaving Portland behind to keep their unborn baby safe, or staying on to fight alongside their friends to bring Black Claw down once and for all.
Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Reggie Lee) return to the precinct to keep an eye out on their Captain, while Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) tries to deal with the side effects of having her fatal wound healed by the mysterious stick. The extent of the stick's powers may also be revealed in the upcoming season, and whatever else it can do may be the key to Nick's and his crew's victory. On the flipside, if the stick falls in the wrong hands, it could spell disaster for both the Wesen and human worlds.
Will "Grimm's" final chapter end in tragedy? Find out when the season premiere airs on Friday, Jan. 6, at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
