'Grimm' season 6 spoilers, plot news: Juliette's impending return threatens Nick and Adalind; next main villain revealed
"Grimm" season 6 has been ordered and announced by its home network NBC and in view of how things turned out during the season 5 finale, the impending events to unfold seem bleak for Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) and Adalind Schade (Claire Coffee), especially now that Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch) is finding her way back into their lives from being the amnesia-stricken Eve (Bitsie Tulloch). Another bad guy is also on his way to bring terror to the Portland town.
In light of Eve showing signs of Juliette returning, co-creator and executive producer David Greenwalt told TV Line, "Well, the feelings have come back." It looks like Nick will be in a dilemma, torn between Adalind and former love Juliette, in the forthcoming season. Yet, in whichever way their affairs play out, the future rather looks good for Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee Calvert (Bree Turner) whose marriage is taking an exciting turn. Rosalee's pregnancy when finally divulged to Monroe overjoyed him and this part of their story will be carried over to season 6.
Meanwhile, romantic affairs and sentiments aside, Captain Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz) will be the "big bad" in the next season, as Giuntoli told TV Insider. Renard will take the limelight in season 6 which will elaborate on his growing power and authority and what this will entail for the characters around him.
The Nick-against-Renard storyline has two different avenues to choose to take. It can be that Renard will antagonize Nick and a huge fight will ensue between the two. Or it can be that the Captain will take the other route and invite Nick into taking his side in a rather diplomatic negotiation. Renard almost succeeded in taking baby Kelly away from Nick. This past incident can hinder a peaceful talk should the Captain decide to negotiate with the Detective who will always make sure that his son with Adalind is safe. After all, Kelly's safety is the one thing he will do anything and everything for.
"Grimm" will return to NBC later this year although with lesser number of episodes.
