David Giuntoli will make his directorial debut in the next episode of "Grimm" season 6.

According to reports, the actor will make his first stint as a director in the episode titled "Oh Captain, My Captain." In the said episode, Giuntoli's character Nick Burkhardt will use the Witch's Hat to be able to get an advantage against his greatest nemesis, Captain Sean Renard (Sasha Roiz).

The trailer for the episode showed Nick inhaling the vapor coming out of the tip of the witch's hat in front of his friends. This made him transform into a cloned version of Renard.

SpoilerTV released the synopsis for the upcoming episode, which reads: "In order to stop the rise of Capt. Renard, Nick devises a plan that will take him out of his element. Adalind (Claire Coffee) and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) do everything in their power to keep the plan on track. Meanwhile, Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) race against time to get the spell ready before it is too late." This could mean that Nick will try to pin down Renard using his enemy's own likeness.

Meanwhile, Nick's plans are expected to work with the help of his trusted friends. Eve and Rosalee will be beside him in order to make the spell that once used by Adalind to transform herself to become Juliette.

Giuntoli talked about his experience behind the director's chair for the first time in an exclusive interview with Yahoo! TV. According to the actor, he enjoyed working behind the camera for the show.

"It was the best time I have ever had on a set in my career. I really believe that. I still don't understand all of the technicalities, so I let the crew people do what they do best. And they were such a giant help," the actor stated. "It was very humbling. People had my back. It was such a wonderful time in my career. It took a week for the adrenaline to clear out of my body. I owe all of my bosses major gratitude."

The next episode of "Grimm" season 6 will air on NBC on Friday, Jan. 20.
