'GTA 6' release date news 2016: Game to be announced at Sony's September event?

Game developer Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive are currently enjoying success of "GTA Online." Despite the heavy rumor with regard to the development and release of "GTA 6," both companies have yet to provide concrete details about it. The sixth installment of the series is one of the most anticipated video games for the last couple of years. Despite the hype, the new title is still far from becoming a reality.

According to a report by Neurogadget, it has been mentioned by Take-Two Interactive during its fiscal report that Rockstar Games is currently working on a new project. Although the company did not go deep into the details of its new development, many people predict that the new project refers to "GTA 6" or a new expansion for "DLC 5."

Previous speculations suggest that "GTA 6" might be unveiled at the Sony PlayStation event this week. The event is said to focus on the upcoming release of Sony's new gaming consoles, PlayStation 4 Neo and PlayStation Slim. According to CNET, several leaked details have emerged online regarding the new gaming systems from Sony, despite the effort to keep the development under wraps.

According to Vine Report, there are also possibilities that the next project Take-Two was talking about during its fiscal report refers to the sequel of "Red Dead Redemption 2." The upcoming game title has also been in the rumor mill for quite a while now.

Meanwhile, industry observers suggest that "GTA 6" might get announced at this year's Sony event; however, they believe that the game will not come out earlier than 2018. Several speculations said that Rockstar Games might bring the next "GTA" installment across several cities in the world including London and Tokyo. However, this has yet to be confirmed by Take-Two and the game developer Rockstar Games.
