Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Peter Turns Mature; Gamora Finds New Family
When the "Guardians of the Galaxy" premiered on July 21, 2014, it was a huge hit. Not even a year has passed and Marvel Studios has already announced the release of a sequel on May 5, 2017.
The announcement did not come as a surprise since "Guardians of the Galaxy" turned out to be massively popular.
With the movie having earned rave reviews, fans expect the second installment to exceed expectations. Here's what we know about the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" so far:
Director James Gunn never worked on a project with a budget of more than $15 million prior to "Guardians of the Galaxy." Marvel Productions officially announced that Gunn will also direct the sequel during the San Diego Comic Con 2014.
Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) will return this time as a mature leader -- very different from the womanizing thief that he was in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy." We can expect Peter to still have emotional ties with his mother who passed away, and he will still be looking for his real father in order to deal with his identity issues.
Gamora, played by Zoe Saldana, will be in a better place as she moves on with the issues she's had in her entire life such as her parents being killed by a psychotic alien right in front of her. This alien ended up raising her. In the second instalment of the movie, all these will be behind her as she finds a new family in Peter, Rocket and Groot.
Stay tuned for more spoilers for the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy 2"!
