A decade after it was first mentioned, "Half-Life 3" is still surrounded with massive hype from fans. In fact, the community is teaming up to urge Valve Corporation to bring the game to life.

Valve has announced The Steam Awards as part of its Steam Autumn Sale where players not only cast their votes on games in various categories but also create another category.

This led to the "Game that Deserves a Sequel" award, which as one would have thought, where "Half-Life 2: Episode Two" is a frontrunner of.

The folks over at Reddit are encouraging everyone who wants to see "Half-Life 3" to vote the myth of a game's predecessor to be the one voted for the newly-crafted category.

It is unclear if this will push Valve to make "Half-Life 3," but this clearly shows that a whole legion of fans is still waiting to see the game in the flesh someday.

Valve has not yet said if the game is not coming at all and they have been evasive over the years when it comes to that matter. In the early years of this waiting game, Valve actually planned a follow-up "Half-Life" game.

It is not "Half-Life 3" but a third episode for "Half-Life 2," which, for some reason, they ultimately gave up on. But many fans remain hopeful that a new game from the franchise will come.

Fans definitely found a way to make themselves heard by Valve with The Steam Awards. Whether this will generate a result or not remains to be seen.

In the event that "Half-Life 2: Episode Two" wins the "Game that Deserves a Sequel" award, it is likely that Valve will not have a choice but to address it.

Rumors about "Half-Life 3" are nonstop. The latest buzz about it suggests that the game will be a virtual reality (VR) title although nothing has been corroborated yet.
