'Halo 5: Guardians' free update news 2016: 'Monitor Bounty' expansion already available; watch the trailer here
"Halo 5: Guardians" free content titled "Monitor's Bounty" has new content and features that players will never want to miss. The update is already available and a video trailer is even out to give the players a sneak peek of its content.
The free expansion for "Halo 5: Guardians" has additional weapons and new Warzone maps, aside from a custom game browser that comes with an Observer mode. The custom game browser allows players to search and join in custom games.
"We've also updated the content browser so that if you find a map or mode that you like, you'll be able to browse for in-progress custom games from that file's options," announced game design lead Vincent Hui in the game blogsite.
"This custom games browser is something the team has wanted to add for a long time for the community, but we needed the content browser and the search engine that powers it up and running first," he added.
One of the biggest changes that the update offers is the matchmaking system. "Halo 5: Guardians" now has a separate list for the Social and the Ranked playlist. In an interview with Haloway Point, 343 Industries design head Quinn DelHoyo said that they want to maintain fostering the choice of the players, and the separate lists has been a grand step to fulfilling that.
As for Team Arena, upcoming changes are to be applied based on the suggestions of the veteran players and the general game community. No details have been out yet, but on Dec. 8, here is the list of what the players can see in Team Arena:
- Capture the Flag: Coliseum, Fathom, Stasis, Truth
- Slayer: Coliseum, Eden, Plaza, Regret, The Rig, Truth
- Strongholds: Eden, Empire, Plaza, The Rig
