'Halo 6' release date news update: Expected in 2018? Not included in Xbox Play Anywhere list
The eagerly anticipated video game from the "Halo" series, "Halo 6," was not one of the games shown at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, pointing therefore to its exclusion from the Xbox Play Anywhere program, as Microsoft clarified in their blog post.
Fans had earlier taken the technology company's announcement of the game list for the said program to include the upcoming "Halo" installment. Unfortunately, this is not to be so. This development could also be a clue that the "Halo 6's" release is nowhere near.
To attest to that, information on the release of "Halo 6" has been nil and unclear. The newest version of the game is rumored though to come out sometime in 2018, but this has not been officially confirmed as well.
As to the PC version of the game, Microsoft clarified last week that this release would only be available for the games indicated at the E3, which did not include "Halo 6." However, it is speculated that, with "Halo 5's" upcoming availability on Windows 10, it may eventually find its way there, perhaps even along with the awaited release on Xbox.
Despite these disheartening tidbits, fans can be assured that "Halo 6" is indeed in the works at the moment. Word has even come out of a new trilogy outing which implies that "Halo" 7, 8, and 9 may be expected to hit gaming platforms in the future. What "Halo" diehards may find even more exciting is that this new set of games may have foes never before faced by players of the game series.
The "Halo 6," which was first announced at Microsoft's E3 2011, is said to be the third and last chapter of the "Reclaimer" trilogy when it finally comes around. There have been no other details announced regarding the gameplay or its plot yet, so fans should have to stay tuned.
