Hatchimals availability news: Toys 'R' Us Southern Florida restocks its shelves with the hottest 2016 Christmas toy
Every holiday season, a new fad in terms of the perfect gift for children pop on the mainstream market and suddenly start selling like pancakes. This year, the Hatchimals have taken center stage with Spin Master's own version of robots for children.
The toy has been in development since 2014 and was rolled out in October of this year, which is the perfect time to pick up some steam until the holiday shopping time hits its climax. The problem, however, is that with barely two months to nab one or two for the kids in the family, the robotic toy has become highly covetable not to mention very difficult to find. Unfortunately, those that are still available, such as the ones on eBay, have rocketed in terms of prices to the point that it has become quite impractical and even unreasonable to avail oneself of the ludicrous sale.
But for the adults who are hell-bent on picking up a unit, Toys 'R' Us has finally restocked its shelves with the elusive toy, Sunday morning, West Palm Beach TV reports. When this news broke out, over 25 people lined up in front of the store brand on PGA Boulevard. To put the enthusiasm into perspective, Mary Ellis and her mom were the first people in line who has already been there since 1:30 a.m. in the morning, before the store opens at 6 a.m.
"She knocked on my door and said Mary do you want to wait outside Toys R Us with me all day," Mary Ellis said about her mom. "I'm like, ok fine, I thought she was joking at first but here I am."
Waiting outside to score the toy was a bit easier given that Florida has a less harsh weather at this time of the year, but it would just be incredibly difficult in other states who are under very cold climate given that it is winter in the country.
Toys 'R' Us, PGA Boulevard has received a total of 64 Hatchimals, being sold for $79.99 but by 7 a.m, roughly just an hour after the store opened, only 16 pieces were left for grabs. The store manager shares that he does not expect any more shipment coming until later this month after Christmas. But there is no word yet for other branches, whether in-state or not, if new shipments will soon be available.
Spin Master has admitted that they have been taken aback by the burst in popularity of their product. And they have tried to meet the high demand by having their stocks from China delivered to North America via air freight instead of by sea. However, they cannot commit that the shipment will arrive in time for Christmas.
