Although Steve (Alex O'Loughlin) and Alicia (Claire Forlani) managed to survive last week's episode of "Hawaii Five-0" season 7, the final scene quickly reminded viewers that Five-0's serial killer problems are far from over.

CBS' long-running police procedural series may not be tying that loose end anytime soon as this week's episode will instead be featuring a burglary at a gun range carried out by a culprit with a dangerously didactic ulterior motive.

According to a brief episode synopsis on TV Guide, the Five-0 Task Force will eventually figure out that the thief intends to use the cache of guns he stole to make a dramatic stand on gun violence. But just what kind of drama he will be waging to get his message across remains unclear. Could he be planning a one-man public shootout or did he just intend to incapacitate the police force in preparation for a much grander plan?

The preview for the episode titled, "Ke Ku 'Ana" ("The Stand") carried the tagline "Man vs Machine" and featured a bulletproof bulldozer barreling down the streets of Hawaii, crashing through walls and damaging every other vehicle in its path. Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) was worried their small caliber bullets may prove useless against their steel-based adversary. Danny (Scott Caan) made the mistake of asking, "What do you think, Steve?" which sent the fearless Five-0 commander rushing towards the enemy leaving them with a curt command: "Cover me."

Last week's episode also featured Kono (Grace Park) telling Kamekona (Taylor Wily) that her husband, Adam (Ian Anthony Dale), had been granted an early parole. This was because he helped out Five-0 in the previous season. This week will finally see his release and the much awaited continuation of their interrupted newlywed romance.

Chin had also began doubting the alleged relatives in Mexico who were about to adopt Sara (Londyn Silzer), his niece by marriage. He has yet to hear back from federal prosecutor Coughlin (Ingo Rademacher) regarding the more thorough background check he had asked for, the result of which could potentially help him decide whether or not to take full responsibility for his niece.

"Hawaii Five-0" season 7 episode 5 airs on Friday, Oct. 21 at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
