'Homeland' season 6 spoilers news 2016: Carrie to run coffeehouse as she searches for the elusive inner peace?
Moving on from a life of thrills, danger, and excitement would be hard for Carrie Mathison. However, when "Homeland" season 6 returns to the small screen, fans would see how she would struggle to instill some semblance of normalcy in her life.
Carrie (Claire Danes) has left her life as a CIA agent with the hopes of living a simpler life away from constant danger, but it looks like she won't be able to move on from her past that quickly or easily. Yes, she would be back stateside with her daughter and would try to live as normal a life as possible, but if speculations prove true, then a normal setting isn't what "Homeland" season 6 has in store for viewers.
The issues, suspense and thrills of the previous seasons will still be a major part of the sixth installment, even as the show's director, Lesli Linka Glatter, confirmed that Carrie would search for inner peace when season 6 returns.
In an interview with Huffington Post, Glatter said that Carrie's mission to live a much simpler and worry-free life would seem attainable, but with her background as an ex-CIA agent, she would find it hard to pull herself away especially once the US starts battling with insurgents again.
"She's pretty ravaged, you know, by the end. She's been through yet another ring of hell, so I think she always, in the beginning of the season, seems in the mood to stabilize, and then her calling disrupts that, so I think it'll be more of that," Danes dished on the travails of her character.
Glatter even said that Carrie could "end up running a coffeehouse" in her quest to find inner peace, but "the interesting part will be whether she can ever find inner peace."
Meanwhile, if a tweet posted in June is to be believed, it looks like there will be two more seasons of "Homeland" that fans can look forward to apart from the upcoming sixth season. Check it out below:
