'How to Get Away With Murder' season 3 return date, news, spoilers: Annalise's mother to appear; is Wes' killer someone from his inner circle?
Mama Ophelia, portrayed by Cicely Tyson, will be showing up after she finds out that her baby is in jail.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Pete Nowalk shared that Annalise's (Viola Davis) mother, Ophelia, will be showing up when "How to Get Away With Murder" season 3 returns in a few days.
"Ophelia comes back, which was obviously an important story for when Annalise's mother and her father (Roger Robinson) find out their daughter has been arrested for murder. I think they're going to have a really strong reaction. I can't wait for people to see that," Nowalk teased.
The showrunner explained that they aim to have Tyson appear in at least one episode per season because it would be incomplete without her presence.
Aside from Annalise's parents, the Keating 4 and Bonnie (Liza Weil) are also worried about her being in jail, but it might not be because they care about her.
"I think they're all freaking worried, because if Annalise is in jail, are they all going to end up in jail, too? It seems like the beginning of the end," Nowalk said.
Nowalk added that some of them might even be happy that Annalise is in jail because of how they think Annalise has ruined their lives and that she might even be guilty. But everyone around Annalise, especially the Keating 4, has depended on her to keep out of the police's radar, which will be their motivation in helping her get out of jail.
Meanwhile, it is possible that Wes' killer is among their inner circle.
In the upcoming 11th episode, titled "Not Everything is About Annalise," a surprise confession to Wes' murder might save Annalise from the charges. But why would someone confess to killing Wes if that person does not have close relations with him?
There are a few characters who seem guilty of Wes' death, such as Connor (Jack Falahee) and Frank (Charlie Weber), but the culprit will soon be revealed when season 3 returns.
