HTC 10's launch ends speculations; new device boasts of camera and audio quality
After a year of hype and speculations, HTC's new Android flagship HTC 10 has been launched and is now available from T-Mobile.
The HTC 10, which is named in recognition of the Taiwanese company's number of years of manufacturing smartphones, is a 5.2-inch premium phone with emphasis on sophisticated audio and camera features that prove to be its most distinguishing selling points.
According to the specs enumerated on the HTC official website, the HTC 10 is composed of an all-aluminum unibody with a dual-textured finish, a soft curve on the back and a flat slab of glass on the front, all of which give it a unique profile.
The company is strong at the promotion of the HTC 10's advanced 12-megapixel camera. HTC 10 users are to expect outstanding point-and-shoot results. There is also the macro-zooming functionality which allows for a blurred effect on the background that results in more dramatic images. It performs well in low light because of its use of the Ultrapixel technology which gets more light in the sensor per pixel. A review by PC Advisor even lists the device as a contender to being the best smartphone camera that this year has seen.
The other important side of the tale is the HTC 10's production of some of the best sounds to date. Its audio quality is one impressive feature of the phone. The company made the new BoomSound better through the 24-bit high-resolution sound system dubbed the BoomSound HiFI edition.
In addition, Apple users will be thrilled with the new HTC handset as it comes with Apple's AirPlay streaming standard support. Users can stream audio from the handset to an Apple TV and other devices compatible with Apple's WiFi audio standard which largely allows for a better sound quality than Bluetooth. There is also a personal audio profile through which the user can adjust the sounds settings to his preferred manner.
In terms of performance, the HTC 10 is quick and responsive. Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor powers the device with a 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD slot to expand it with 200GB. In terms of software, the HTC 10 runs Google's Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.
While there are varying reviews on the battery life of the HTC 10, a single charging can generally already go a whole day of typical usage. Its fast-charging technology, the Quick Charge 3.0, is an ideally helpful feature of the HTC 10 for heavy mobile users.
The HTC 10 has a recommended price of $699. The newest HTC model comes in four different colors, namely, Carbon Grey, Glacier Silver, Topaz Gold and Camellia Red, although as per its advertisement, the availability varies according to market.
