A new HTC smartphone, believed to be the X10, has received certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). While the Taiwan-based consumer electronics company has not officially announced the upcoming device, it is believed to arrive sometime in January 2017.

According to the listing, the device carries the model number 2PYR1XX. While no technical specifications were revealed this time around, the smartphone's Bluetooth certification does seem to hint that its release is imminent.

Back in November, the rumored HTC X10 was also spotted in a Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) listing which revealed that the phone will be available in both single and dual-SIM variants.

If the rumored specs turn out to be true, the HTC X10 will feature a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 processor with 3 GB of random access memory (RAM). It may also be equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera. In terms of price, the device is said to cost RMB 2,000 which is about $288. This means that the X10 will be a midrange offering.

The X10 is expected to be the successor of the One X9. Given that the latter device was initially announced in December 2015 and released this January, the suggested release window of the X10 makes a lot of sense.

At this time, HTC has not mentioned the X10 but the smartphone manufacturer did confirm that they will make an announcement on Jan. 12, 2017. Many believe that the X10 will be one of the new products that will be introduced at the event. The event will also take place a few days after the Consumer Electronics Show which means that HTC will likely introduce new products in order to compete with the latest devices announced at the trade show.
