Huawei Ascend Mate 9 release date, news & update: Leaked manual reveals high-end smartphone
Huawei reportedly teased their upcoming flagship smartphone, the Mate 9. A leaked manual revealed that the forthcoming smartphone will be a massive device which will have high-end features to compete with the top-tier mobile devices in the market.
Though Huawei's Mate 9 is not as well-known and highly anticipated as Samsung's Galaxy S series or Apple's iPhone series, the device's upcoming features probably might get the device the recognition it deserves. If the rumors are true, the Mate 9 will have a 20-MP dual-lens camera and another 12-MP sensor, with 4x optical zoom. Its screen will have a curved design. Its RAM will be able to accommodate up to 6 GB worth of storage. The device is expected to come in two variants, a more cost-efficient unit and a premium device.
Based on the leaked manual of the Mate 9, the dual-lens will equip a Leica Summarit H1:2.2/27 ASPH camera. The same camera can be found in Huawei's P9 device. With this particular hardware, it will use one color and one monochrome sensor, which will improve the range of photos one can capture.
Rumor has it that the upcoming flagship smartphone could cost at least $475. On the other hand, reports have claimed that the Mate 9 Pro will cost $1,300.
The forthcoming smartphone will be powered by the Kirin 90 processor. It will feature a dual tone LED flash, a USB Type-C port as well as a microSD card slot, so mobile users can expand the device's storage capacity.
Though it hasn't been confirmed yet by the manufacturer, many are expecting Huawei to unveil the Mate 9 this Nov. 3. Previous rumors have suggested that the device will launch in December. Since the company has yet to confirm its launch date, tech enthusiasts should treat the latest reports as speculation until proven otherwise.
