iMac 2016 release date, news, specs rumors: Upcoming Apple desktop to boast impressive graphics performance due to latest Zen and Intel processors
It is getting more likely that Apple will be having another press event before the year ends. If the last September 7 Apple Event focused on the iPhone 7, Apple Watch Series 2, and the iOS 10, the upcoming event this October is said to highlight the much-awaited Macbook products refresh. One of the possible highlights of the said event will be the iMac 2016, boasting new impressive hardware specs.
According to the latest report fro Recode, the Cupertino-based tech giant will be having a hardware event on October 27. Those who followed last month's Apple Event were disappointed to not hear any news about the Macbooks, but this time around, Apple will be ready to unveil the latest look of their Mac products. Bloomberg also reported earlier that the Fall hardware event of Apple will reveal the 2016 Macbook Pro and Macbook Air, as well as the new and improved iMac desktop.
Upon its release, the iMac 2016 is said to boast a very impressive graphics performance, thanks to the new generation of processors that will be used on the computer. iTech Post reported that the new iMac will be using the Kaby Lake chipset, Intel's seventh generation Core i7 processor. The Kaby Lake is expected to provide a greater boost in performance compared to the current Skylake chipset. Moreover, the iMac 2016 is also said to use the latest AMD Zen GPUs, and together with the Intel Kaby Lake, the new Apple desktop will boast a revolutionary and exceptionally impressive graphics quality.
The online publication also reported that the iMac 2016 will be able to support USB 3.1, DisplayPort 1.2 and Thunderbolt 3 due to the latest Intel Kaby Lake chipset. The rumors are rife that the enhanced graphics feature of the iMac 2016 can go as far as supporting virtual reality (VR) contents. However, Apple has not yet revealed any details regarding the new iMac's lineup of features. It would be wise not to give much credence to these initial reports until Apple finally reveals the new Mac product.
