Indiana Pacers trade rumors: Pacers might trade George to OKC
At the moment, the Indiana Pacers are not where they planned to be. It's still early on in the season but they have been very inconsistent.
The Pacers are last in the Central Division and are steadily losing ground against their rivals, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls.
This results in rumors about a move involving one of their key players. Talks are now circulating that Paul George may be on his way out, and one of the teams linked to getting the superstar guard is the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Despite adding names like Jeff Teague and Al Jefferson to the team, the Pacers have clearly struggled; with many pointing fingers at George and questioning whether he is ready to shoulder the team to new heights.
George has certainly tried to do that, averaging 20.4 points and 6.1 rebounds in the first few games of the season.
His point output is certainly higher than his career averages, but it is clear that the Pacers need more chemistry and more games together in order to get their timing right.
However, the potential move to the Thunder might be interesting for George because it immediately links him with another superstar, Russell Westbrook. Adding George will easily give the Thunder a second superstar who will bring them back to contention in the West.
The Thunder are reportedly trying to give up Enes Kanter and Andre Roberson for George.
This could be intriguing for the Pacers as Kanter is a proven offensive threat and a double-double guy while Roberson is an excellent defender through the one to four spots.
It is very interesting to see how this potential move pans out. George will undoubtedly have to develop a new role as he shares the possession with Westbrook in Oklahoma City. But playing alongside an MVP contender should also elevate George's game as they try to reach the pinnacle of professional basketball.
