'Injustice 2' release date, latest news: NetherRealm, DC tease huge 'Injustice 2' reveal on Jan. 17
A huge revelation regarding the video game "Injustice 2" will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 17, according to game developer NetherRealm Studios.
To bring anticipation to the upcoming reveal, a teaser clip has been posted on the video game's official Twitter account. The clip shows Superman carrying a lifeless body. The identity of the person Superman who is cradling is difficult to discern since the individual's face is covered with a cloth. However, the figure of the person seems to be that of a woman.
"The Lines Are Redrawn," the caption of the Twitter post read.
Not long after, DC Comics also joined in promoting the reveal by posting their own teaser clip on their Twitter account. In this promo clip, Wonder Woman and Supergirl are seen fighting with each other. "The Battle Rages On – 01.17.2017," the caption of DC Comic's Twitter post read.
There are those who speculate that the feud between Wonder Woman and Supergirl has something to do with Superman's loss of a loved one. However, there are also those who believe that the two clips are part of unrelated events which are featured in the same trailer that has not been released yet.
According to We Got This Covered, considering that "Injustice 2" finally has a release date, DC fans and gaming enthusiasts should expect character and gameplay announcements to be unveiled soon, starting with the possible CGI trailer that could be revealed this Jan. 17.
At present, only a few DC characters have been confirmed for the superhero fighting game. Aside from those previously mentioned, the likes of Harley Quinn and Blue Beetle have been confirmed to appear as playable game characters in "Injustice 2." However, there are rumors that non-DC characters may also be making an appearance in the highly-anticipated video game.
"Injustice 2" is slated for release on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 on May 16.
