'Injustice 2' release date, news, rumors: Sequel to feature guest characters from 'Mortal Kombat?'

It appears that "Injustice 2" will be featuring special playable characters upon its release, and some of the additional fighters are outside the DC universe.

Just recently, "Injustice" game producer Ed Boon revealed that there is a possibility of "Injustice 2" having additional guest characters in the roster that are not from the DC comic book. In an interview with the Game Informer, Boon stated that it would be interesting to introduce more guest characters in the upcoming game sequel. Many players have also liked the idea of seeing non-DC characters in the game fighting against the usual comic book heroes and villains that the fans know.

To note, many players positively received the inclusion of Scorpion, a known character in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, in the first "Injustice" video game. In fact, Scorpion became one of the most downloaded characters in the game. Likewise, the other game titles featuring guest characters like the Alien and Predator in "Mortal Kombat X" caught the interesting of more players. This is one way to make the game even more exciting.

As for "Injustice 2," there is no confirmed details about the new guest characters, but it is possible that NetherRealm may include another character from "Mortal Kombat."

As listed by Yibada, the upcoming "Injustice" sequel will be featuring a bigger lineup of DC superheroes and villains. Some of the characters confirmed in the roster were actually present in the first "Injustice" game, but they will now be playable in the sequel. Some of the characters in the roster include. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd  While NetherRealm has not yet confirmed their participation, the rumors are rife that Black Canary, Starfire, Beast Boy, Swamp Thing, Darkseid, Jonah Hex, Red Hood, John Constantine, Captain Cold, King Shark and Dr. Manhattan may be included in the lineup.

The DC characters that are present in "Injustice 2" consist of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, Supergirl, Blue Beetle, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Meanwhile, some players have concerns over the new Gear System in the "Injustice 2" gameplay. Some people believe that allowing players to wear gears and armors to boost their build may cause an imbalance during a fight. However, NetherRealm claims that they wanted to include this system to make for a great fight, PlayStation LifeStyle reported. Moreover, there are other game modes that the players can use to find a fair match.
