'Injustice 2' updates: Official gameplay trailer released; DC characters tackle each other
After the official announcement of the DC Comics-based fighting video game "Injustice 2," its first gameplay trailer is officially unveiled by video game development company NetherRealm Studios. The trailer gives fans a glimpse of the game's anticipated high level action contained in clashes among DC heroes and villains.
The official gameplay trailer of the sequel to "Injustice: Gods Among Us" features, in exceptional graphics, the iconic heroes Supergirl, Batman, Superman and Aquaman, as well as the new villains such as Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd, as they tackle each other.
NetherRealm's creative director Ed Boon talked about the upcoming game during the "ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League" Season 3 Finals in Burbank in California, as reported by Business Wire.
"In 'Injustice 2,' we are introducing new features that will change the way fans play fighting games. We're always interested in pushing the genre forward and allowing players to customize and level-up their favorite DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains is a significant leap," Boon stated.
"Injustice 2" is set to deliver a gaming experience founded on DC characters through enhancement and expansion of the extravagant confrontations among superheroes and supervillains showcased in its predecessor. "Injustice 2" will allow players to make the game their own as it will hand them over the capacities to customize the iconic characters brought in straight from the fictional world of DC Comics. Gamers will be able to personalize them with strong and distinct gears which will have to be earned during the course of the game. They will be capable of having control over the appearance of their characters and the way that they fight by way of an assortment of game modes to choose from.
"Injustice 2" will follow the continuation of the classic movie-like story of its preceding title, "Injustice: Gods Among Us." This will be where Batman together with his allies will strive to rebuild the society and at the same time fight against those who will work to bring back Superman's regime. In the middle of the pandemonium and turmoil, the Earth will again be threatened by the arrival of a new menace.
"Injustice 2" gamers will get to play from a huge range of DC characters. The battles will cut across various locations from Metropolis to Gotham City to Atlantis.
While it is developed by NetherRealm Studios, "Injustice 2" is published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
