iOS 10.2 release date news 2016: resolves iPhone 6S battery, shutdown issues; comes out next week
Although Apple has been commended for consistently rolling out updates for its iOS, news emerged that a number of iPhone 6S users have been experiencing a sudden shutdown of their handsets. This may have prompted the company to immediately take action by releasing a new update for the recent iOS.
A number of iPhone 6S users have been complaining about the device's battery. More and more users are likewise coming out in the open to ask Apple to fix the issue. However, Apple has not been issuing any statements, leaving the users frustrated about it.
Good thing, Apple appeared to acknowledge the problem and stated that it is finding ways to resolve the matter, even arranging systems for the replacement process. However, the replacement can only be done for selected iPhone 6s users.
Apple will reportedly replace iPhone 6S units based on serial number. This sparked another issue as there are iPhone 6S users who have experienced the same problem, but their handsets' model numbers are not listed for replacement.
To address the issue, the Cupertino-based tech company announced that it is releasing a diagnostic tool to resolve the iPhone 6S issue. This is done by updating the iOS 10 version to the iOS 10.2, which will be available soon.
According to the official website of Apple, the diagnostic tool may be available by next week. The company is apparently looking into the improvement of the algorithms used to resolve the battery and shutdown issues. The tool is expected to fix the software errors and improve the performance of the battery.
Apple may want to resolve the matter soon before it experiences the same downfall as Samsung with the problematic Galaxy Note 7. It could be recalled that Samsung faced controversy regarding the defective battery of the Note 7, urging them to conduct a replacement process.
More news of iOS 10.2 update and the issues surrounding iPhone 6S will come out soon. Be sure to stay tuned.
