iPad Air 3 release date, specs rumors: Fall launch expected, iPad Pro 9.7 coming back?
The iPad Air 3 is still one of the Apple devices that users expect to turn up sometime soon. According to the latest reports, it could be here as early as September.
With that said, the tablet might share the spotlight with the iPhone 7, which is also expected to be launched in the same month along with a whole host of products.
These products include the purported iPad mini 5, the new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air and even the Apple Watch 2. However, there are reports that the iPad Air 3 will be released in a separate event in October, the same month its predecessor was released in 2014.
Apple has noticeably been silent about the iPad Air 3, which was expected to be released last year. However, the tech giant from Cupertino released the iPad Pro, and a smaller version with a 9.7-inch display, the same size the iPad Air goes by.
Because of this, it was believed that Apple no longer felt the need to release the iPad Air 3 for last year and gave the impression that the iPad Air will be retired in favor of the iPad Pro.
Apple has not spoken about its plans for its popular tablet line although it could be that the iPad Pro simply presented the company the opportunity to push out a smaller version of it, which served as a replacement of the iPad Air for that year.
With the size of the iPad Pro, it is understandable that some users will want a smaller, more manageable product. The iPad Pro 9.7 released in March, appears to have catered to that.
It is a mystery if Apple will go by this product line, completely ditch the iPad Air 3 and just continue the iPad Pro 9.7-inch line. For now, fans will have to wait and see this September.
