iPad Mini 3 Release Date Rumors, Specs: Apple to Launch on October 21?

A report from Daily Dot has confirmed that "Apple is ready to launch two new iPads, along with the newest version of its operating system for Mac computers", which will arrive on October 21.

According to the same online publication, Apple will be releasing the iPad Air 2 and iPad 3 mini, together with the OS X Yosemite.

Apple however has not released any official announcements regarding the release.

According to CNET, an October 21 forecast may be a "safe bet" since the new iPads were released on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, and Tuesday, October 23, 2012. The forecast release date for this year, which is on October 21, 2014, happens to be a Tuesday as well.

Another possibility for the iPad Mini 3 is that Apple will be introducing a new gold color just as it did for the iPhone 5S, IPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

To counter the October 21 speculation, Tech Radar has reported that the rumored release date is actually unlikely. Taiwan's Commercial Times also claims that the iPad Mini will not arrive until next year.

Meanwhile, Apple fans expect a 9.7 screen from the 6th generation iPad and a 7.9 inch screen for the iPad Mini 3. After only selling 13.3 million units this year, it looks like the company is looking for ways to boost sales for the iPad. A release on or before the holiday season should help improve sales, but we have yet to find out whether the company will be announcing it anytime soon.
