The September launch of the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus was underwhelming by Apple standards. It did, however, cause a bit of stir because of the new phones' lack of audio jack, but aside from that, not much of its features were exactly game-changing for the smartphone industry.

Apple aficionados and fans, however, have high hopes for the next iPhone in line — the iPhone 8. Since it will be launched by 2017, which also marks the Apple iPhones' 10th anniversary, many expect that the company will equip the iPhone 8 with game-changing features.

The speculations for the upcoming iPhone 8 include Apple's partnership with several other companies to come up with top-of-the-line parts of the smartphone.

A rumored partnership with the LG company has surfaced, as Apple apparently tapped the company to come up with 3D-capable cameras for its next generation of smartphones. The report suggests that "Since LG Innotek also has its own 3D camera and related technologies, such joint efforts will likely bear fruit sometime within next year." It may also be noted that LG already supplied Apple its dual-lens camera for the iPhone 7 series.

Apple is also rumored to partner with Sharp to come up with better iPhone screens for iPhone 8. The screen is speculated to have a built-in home button and a glass-case cover.

In addition, the iPhone 8 is said to be capable of wireless charging. According to a Forbes report, "The iPhone 8 is reportedly going to be chargeable from a distance of up to 15 feet from a plugged-in transmitter. Essentially the iPhone 8 would have a receiver built into the device to support the wireless charging feature."

It means charging the iPhone 8 still needs an outlet somewhere, but at least users don't have to be tied to an outlet while charging their device.

The iPhone 8's speculated price is put at $600 and above.
