iPhone 8 release date, specs rumors, latest news: Upcoming iPhone to break Apple's previous sales records with its amazing features?
A new year is about to come, and along with it comes another Apple product offering, the iPhone 8.
With an ambitious redesign, the iPhone 8 is widely expected to arrive in September 2017 as part of Apple's celebration of the smartphone's 10th anniversary. Because Apple users and tech enthusiasts expect the company to unleash the upcoming product with a loud and spectacular bang, rumors and speculations are spreading around about just how amazing the iPhone 8 will turn out to be.
As reported by The Wall Street Journal, the company is testing up to 10 prototypes for the upcoming iPhone this 2017. With these prototypes, several improvements are being included for the display, the screen, battery, and the home button among many others.
According to Thrill List, the upcoming iPhone 8 will be built with a much higher-quality display. At least one of the version of the smartphone will be using an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen instead of a liquid crystal display (LCD) screen. With the OLED screen, the iPhone 8 will be equipped with a much better contrast than what an LCD screen could provide. The new screen display will surely make the colors pop.
There are also speculations that the screen itself will have a massive redesign. The screen will be "bent" on both sides, similar to the design of the Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge. Both the front and back sides could also be covered in glass and connected with a metal frame.
Apple is also reportedly testing wireless charging technology, and hence, battery charging could have a major upgrade in the iPhone 8. The Apple smartphone next year may be equipped with the technology that allows it to be recharged from a considerable distance, doing away with traditional wires and connectors.
With the intention to increase the size of future Apple smartphones, the Home button is rumored to be removed from the iPhone 8's design. This will allow a display that stretches to the full length of the device. In its place, a "virtual" home button will be designed, equipped with a more advanced Touch ID and fingerprint sensor.
Should the iPhone 8 indeed be released next year, it is reported to be the most popular new smartphone that will generate record sales for Apple in the second half of 2017.
