'Jane the Virgin' season 3 spoilers: Will Michael survive the fatal gunshot that marred Jane's wedding night?
"Jane the Virgin" season 3 is premiering in a matter of months and by then fans of the hit series would know if Michael (Brett Dier) survived the fatal gunshot wound that marred what could have been the much-anticipated consummation of his and Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) marriage.
There have been plenty of speculations regarding Michael's fate. Some said he would live to honor his marriage to Jane while some said he would die in order to give Rafael (Justin Baldoni), Jane's baby daddy, a chance to start a family with her.
Movie News Guide reported that Dier is currently working on a pilot for a project called "Hiatus," but it hasn't been picked up by a network yet. Apparently, it would be a comedy show detailing what life is like for Dier when he's on a break from acting. With Dier working on a different project, speculations are rife that, indeed, Michael would die in the show.
This raises the question, "To whom would Jane lose her virginity?" It would be remembered that executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman have previously shared that season 3 would be pivotal since Jane would finally lose it. Supposing Michael dies, could Rafael be the one to take it from Jane? Then again, at this point, the things assumed about Michael are all speculations.
Asked if the title of the show would be changed once Jane loses her virginity, Urman was quick to say that they can simply cross off the word "virgin" from the title.
In the meantime, Urman dished on Petra's (Yael Grobglas) fate in the new season. Viewers know that Petra was poisoned by her twin sister Anezka (also played by Grobglas) so she could assume her personality and be with Rafael. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Urman said Petra would wake up.
"At a certain point Petra will (wake up), but it's just a question of how long and how much damage will be done," she said.
"Jane the Virgin" season 3 would be back on The CW on Monday, Oct. 17, at 9 p.m. EST.
