'Jane the Virgin' season 3 release date, cast, spoilers news: Michael is alive?
Fans of Michael (Brett Dier), Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) new husband, were devastated when the amiable detective appeared to have died after being shot by his former partner shortly after his and Jane's wedding in the season 2 finale.
Fortunately, recent social media snaps from the "Jane the Virgin" cast and crew appear to confirm that Michael will be alive and well in the show's upcoming season.
The "Jane the Virgin" crew recently got together for the show's first table read for the new season. In Twitter and Instagram photos from the event, Dier appears alongside the show's main cast, seemingly proving that he will be sharing significant screen time with his co-stars in the new season.
In a photo posted by the "Jane the Virgin" writers to their official Twitter account, Dier sits at the table alongside fellow "Jane" actors Jaime Camil (Rogelio de la Vega), Justin Baldoni (Rafael Solano), Yael Grobglas (Petra Solano), and Ivonne Coll (Alba Gloriana Villanueva).
"First table read of season 3! All smiles on a Monday. #JaneTheVirgin #Chapter45," reads the photo's caption.
In another social media snap from the table read, Dier appears alongside Solano and Andrea Navedo (who plays Xiomara "Xo" Gloriana Villanueva), who posted the photo to her Instagram account. The image is captioned "Table read happening right now for season 3 episode one of @cwjanethevirgin #janethevirgin #wooHoo good stuff coming! @justinbaldoni @brettdier @hereisgina @yaelgrobglas."
Meanwhile, Netflix Life reports that because of a deal struck between The CW and Netflix this summer, The CW's shows will begin streaming on Netflix eight days after their season finales.
This means the third season of the romantic comedy/telenovela will be made available on the streaming service in late May 2017. The show's first two seasons are currently streaming on Netflix.
"Jane the Virgin" season 3 premieres on Monday, Oct. 17, on The CW.
