Jason Sheats strengthened by Jesus Christ after daughters murdered by wife

A father made to suffer after his wife snapped and gunned down their young daughters to death revealed he's drawing strength from Jesus Christ.

"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me," read a Facebook post by Jason Sheats on Wednesday, June 29.

Jason is the sole survivor of a triple shooting incident that took away his beloved daughters, 22-year-old Taylor and 17-year-old Madison on June 24, the same day he turned 45. A Fulshear city police officer, who responded to a 911 call, gunned down 42-year old Christy, Jason's wife, during her shooting rampage.

Jason's post followed a series of photos of him and his daughters on happy days gone by. So far, his Facebook posts are the only messages the public may get directly from the father after he told the sheriff's department during a lengthy interview on Tuesday his decision not to speak publicly of the horrific incident.

"He was obviously in a lot of shock out at the scene," Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls told People.

"He has some support from his family," Nehls added. "He said he's a Christian man."

Nehls also shared during Wednesday's news conference some information gleaned from the previous day's interview with Jason.

"We asked Mr. Sheats for a motive in his own words," Nehls told reporters, as quoted by NBC News. "He stated that he felt Christy wanted him to suffer."

Jason revealed that his relationship with his wife had turned downhill after her grandfather's death in 2012 and that Christy had a history of depression and suicide attempts and was also taking medication. Christy snapped after he told her that day that he wanted a divorce. He thought she planned to discuss their decision to divorce when Christy called their daughters to the living room for a family meeting. Instead, she pulled out a gun and said she'd make him suffer so she went after their daughters whom he loved.

"By killing his children, Mr. Sheats will have to live the rest of his life with this horrible memory," Nehls stated. "He did state she accomplished what she set out to do, and that is to make him suffer."
