Jeremy Lin injury news update: Lin says he may be back in a week or two

The Brooklyn Nets better get point guard Jeremy Lin back on the court soon because things are starting to look bleak. The team looks listless right now after the Houston Rockets handed them their 10th straight loss in a row. The Nets are currently the worst team in the NBA, and they are also the only team in the league with single-digit wins.

Lin has remained on the sidelines since he injured his hamstring last month, but so far, his injury has been healing up well. In an interview with Chinese cable station CCTV5 last week, Lin said he might get back on the court in a week or two.

"It's OK. It's progressing gradually. I think the recovery is faster than last time. It's hard to judge. Hope to come back playing within one, a couple of weeks. But I'm not sure," he told the station (via by NetsDaily).

Lin is clearly frustrated after missing a lot of games this season and he said that if it was up to him, he would be playing right now. However, the Nets don't want to bring him back too soon. While Lin is recuperating, the Nets are going to have to hold the fort with Sean Kilpatrick, Joe Harris, Spencer Dinwiddie, Isaiah Whitehead and Randy Foye. That's not exactly a backcourt that can strike fear into the heart of the opposing team.

Before the Rockets played the Nets, Houston coach Mike D'Antoni also talked about Lin's importance to his team.

"That's your brains. He's the one that's going to be your motor. When he's not out there, it makes it tough. The league is all about injuries. If you stay injury free and be a good team, you have a chance, only a chance. If you're injured and you're not that good a team, you have no chance," he said (via Chrone.com).

D'Antoni was Lin's coach when Linsanity hit New York back in the 2011–2012 season.
