After briefly returning to the Brooklyn Nets, Jeremy Lin has once again been sidelined due to another hamstring injury. While the point guard remains optimistic about his chances of coming back, it has been revealed that there is no timetable for his return.

It can be recalled that Lin finally returned to play for the Nets in December after sitting out for more than two weeks due to the left hamstring that he suffered during the team's bout with the Detroit Pistons last Nov. 2. Unfortunately, on Dec. 26, the point guard suffered another hamstring injury.

Earlier this week, Lin spoke to the media for the first time since his second hamstring injury. The professional basketball star expressed his disappointed but did remain optimistic about the whole situation.

"It's been difficult. The night that I got hurt I didn't feel like talking or was just not in a place where I had anything to say to really anybody. That night I was pretty upset. I think the whole process has been not what I anticipated in terms of getting this opportunity to be on this team, but I think that's life. I think it's more how you respond from it," said Lin, as reported by Basketball Insiders writer Michael Scotto.

Lin further explained that he intends to contribute to his teammates in other ways like studying the game from the sideline. For him, the whole process has been quite a learning experience.

During his conversation with the press, it was revealed that Lin had injured the same hamstring as earlier in the season but in a different area. The athlete explained that he has a better prognosis this time around and that he is encouraged by the fact that the injury is progressing much better. It would be a much graver situation had the injury been on the same exact spot.

Unfortunately, it was also revealed that no timetable has been set for Lin's return.

The Brooklyn Nets will face the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. EST.
