Jeremy Lin suffers injury; no set date yet for his return to Brooklyn Nets
NBA superstar Jeremy Lin has been missing in action ever since he got injured. Brooklyn Nets fans are wondering when the starting point guard will return to the court especially now that the team hasn't been getting victories.
According to reports, Lin had to withdraw from playing after just five games into the 2016-2017 NBA regular season because he suffered an injury during a match against the Detroit Pistons in Nov 2. His hamstring injury basically led him to stay at the bench for the next games of the team, halting the Linsanity 2.0 that fans hoped for.
When asked what his thoughts are regarding the situation, Lin said to the New York Daily News, "At first, I was really upset." He also shared how he even dedicated the day for Ava who was battling Leukemia.
"I came back to my locker, and I wore those pink shoes that day for Ava. I immediately saw the shoes and started thinking about her, and I immediately ended my pity party. It could be a lot worse. I'm still blessed that I'm going to be back on the court," Lin added.
There's still a lot in store for Lin, considering his average score of 15.0 points, 6.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals across 26.8 minutes per game in the Brooklyn Nets' first five games. He also reportedly made himself useful during his recovery period by charting plays while on the play. He made use of the time by understanding the team's offense better under new head coach Kenny Atkinson.
Lin continues to recuperate and recover but reports say he has already gone back to running and sprinting to keep in shape until the doctors are allow him back on the court. New York Post noted that Lin's injury has already been reevaluated but the Nets still have no word on when Lin can possibly return. Fans will have to stay tuned for more updates.
