Jeremy Lin to have a tough time next season; video of unfair treatment surfaces
Jeremy Lin has been one of the most recognized Asian-American players in the NBA, but a lot of fans are expecting him not to be at his best this coming season. A video compiled by Hsiu-Chen Kuei shows all of the hard fouls that Lin has been receiving, and it doesn't look good for the star of "Linsanity."
Reports have recently surfaced online considering the matter, and the video has been titled "Jeremy Lin: To Flagrant Not to Call." The video runs for six-and-a-half minutes and has caused quite the stir in the expectations for Lin this coming season. The video shows Lin being fouled numerous times by other players, but they have all been called regular fouls so far, and not flagrant at all.
Some fans have been blaming racist overtones for the hard fouls that Lin has been receiving recently, and Lin has even shown appreciation for the support that he has been getting from the fans. NBA commissioner Adam Silver has even been approached by the fans regarding Lin's predicament. Unfortunately, the league would dismiss all the arguments made since the hits were all considered hard contacts and none looked flagrant in nature.
With the way he is being treated, Lin is expected to go through a rough season this year, but Lin is proving to be one tough player. Surprisingly enough, the so-called flagrant fouls have been coming from Lin's former teammates like Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and James Harden. The hits that Lin took during the compilation also look to be a mix of both accidental and purposeful fouls.
With Lin expected to be the leader of the Brooklyn Nets this season, it's going to come as a big challenge for Lin to play at the same time that he is seemingly being discriminated upon on court.
Fans hope that the league will eventually answer to the flagrant fouls committed against Lin this coming season.
