Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard recently celebrated the five week mark of the birth of their first child, Israel David, who was born on April 6.

Dillard shared a photo on Instagram of his 23-year-old wife holding their newborn son, as well as a chalkboard sign that reads: "5 weeks, 1 day."

"Don't worry, we won't be doing these weekly photos until he's 18," Derick wrote in the caption. "#jillmdillard #israeldaviddillard #babydilly #5weeks."

Jill endured 70 hours of labor after delivering Israel two weeks past her due date. Although the couple was planning on a home birth, Jill and Derick made the decision to have the baby delivered in a local hospital after there were some signs of fetal distress during the extended labor.

The parents, who both star on the reality show "19 Kids and Counting," ultimately agreed to have Israel delivered by Cesarian Section at the hospital.

"I was praying to God to give me strength," Jill recently recalled to People Magazine regarding her birthing experience. "I was really scared and nervous, but I was praying."

On Wednesday, Jill shared a photo of herself holding Israel in her arms, with the newborn wearing white and blue striped overalls.

"I'm lovin' being a mom! #SoBlessed #IsraelDavidDillard," Jill shared as the caption to her photo.

The couple also celebrated Israel's dedication this past Mother's Day. Jill shared a photo of herself and Derick on stage, holding baby Israel.

"At Israel's dedication this morning we were challenged to raise him to love Jesus. What a special Mother's Day! 'I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.' 3 John 1:4," Jill shared via Instagram.
