Jill Duggar, Derick Dillard to Pursue International Christian Missionary Trip
Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard of the former TLC reality show "19 Kids and Counting" recently announced that they will be pursuing an extended international missionary trip with their two-month-old son.
Dillard took to the family's official website to reveal the young couple's plans to pursue an international missionary trip. Although the reality show couple has yet to disclose where they'll be going, Dillard did share a photo of him standing in a mountainous region that some media outlets have suggested may be Nepal.
Dillard explained the couple's desire to travel abroad on the Duggar family website.
"Since we first began our relationship, it has always been our goal that Jesus Christ might be glorified as we serve others through family ministry, by whatever means that might be," Dillard wrote. "God has put a desire in our hearts to serve Him internationally for longer than the typical short-term mission trip, but we didn't know yet how God would fulfill that desire in us."
Several months ago a new opportunity arose for us to serve God on the mission field," he said. "After much prayer and seeking Godly counsel, we realized that taking this opportunity and moving overseas in order to serve is the best option for our family."
The couple's decision to pursue a missionary trip comes after 27-year-old Josh Duggar, Jill's brother, faced accusations of molesting his sisters, including Jill, ten years ago when he was in his teens.
