Joakim Noah is top target by Eastern Conference giants
After a rough year with the Chicago Bulls, it appears that Joakim Noah is closing in on a move away from the Windy City.
Entering his 10th year as a professional, Noah has spent his entire career with the Bulls, but reports revealed that he may be playing for a new team by the start of the coming season.
It has been big news for the past season that Noah was unhappy with the direction that the Bulls have taken, and the Chicago Sun-Times recently reported that it remains to be the case as the franchise and their big man do not see eye-to-eye.
With this, many believe that the Bulls may not have a chance to have a positive conversation with the center as Noah becomes a free agent by July 1.
If a report from CBS Sports is to be believed, then the New York Knicks might be in the driver seat to get Noah's signature.
The Knicks are in a big rebuilding phase at the moment and with Carmelo Anthony at the helm and Kristaps Porzingis enjoying a great rookie season, things may be looking up for the team.
Furthermore, the team recently signed former Bulls' point guard Derrick Rose, who they hope can regain his MVP-type play to lead the team.
At the moment, the Knicks are clearly in need of a center, and if Noah is available, then New York will not hesitate to pull the trigger and try to sign the big man.
It will surely help as Noah is very familiar with Rose as they try to transition their games for the Knicks.
On paper, it sure looks like a strong team as the starting line-up will have Noah, Porzingis, Anthony and Rose in it.
Noah is coming from an injury-riddled season where he only played 29 total games. In those games, he averaged 4.3 points and 8.8 rebounds, and he is hoping to get back to his best as he is nearing his 31st birthday.
Chicago will be desperate to keep him, but if Noah wants out, then he will still have a big market team to fall back on.
