Josh Duggar goes to court for using another man's photo on his Ashley Madison profile

Reality show star Josh Duggar is headed to court later this month to face a lawsuit over his use of another man's photo on his dating profiles, including his Ashley Madison account.

Duggar had reportedly used a photo of DJ Matt McCarthy on his profile on OK Cupid, Twitter, as well as the controversial website Ashley Madison, which caters to married people who wants to pursue relationships outside of their marriage.

Radar Online reported that McCarthy filed a complaint against Duggar, claiming that he was informed by his teacher that his photo had been used by the "19 Kids and Counting" star. He noted that his teacher had asked him whether he had engaged in a sexual relationship with Duggar and that he was flooded with emails and calls from family, friends, and other people asking about his connection to the reality star's scandal.

McCarthy, who is now seeking damages in excess of $25,000, also claimed in his complaint that he had been referred to as "Duggar's Boy Toy" and "DJ Duggar."

Duggar's Ashley Madison membership was revealed after the hackers released the website's list of clients in 2015. After his email was discovered in the list, he released a confession of adultery, saying he had been a hypocrite for being unfaithful to his wife while publicly showcasing staunch Christian values.

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife," he stated.

"I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him," he continued.

"19 Kids and Counting" was canceled after 10 seasons when news broke that Duggar had molested five underage girls, including his four sisters. He also issued a public statement, admitting to the allegations about the molestations.

"Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation," he said.

Duggar reportedly went through therapy for over six months at a faith-based rehabilitation center in 2015. He is expected to make an appearance on the spinoff series of "19 Kids and Counting," titled "Counting On," this June.
