Twenty-two years following the events in "Jurassic Park," Isla Nublar, an island near Costa Rica, now features a dinosaur adventure park called "Jurassic World," the title of the movie set for release on June 12, 2015.

This will be the second of four Jurassic Park films that will take place on Isal Nublar. The previous two films took place on Isla Sorna (Site B).

The theme park is now owned by the Masrani Global Corporation although it was originally envisioned by John Hammond from the first movie.

Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy") stars as Owen Grady, a member of Jurassic World's on-site staff, who does behavioral research on the velociraptors.

The movie is premised on the decline of attendance rates to the park and how a new attraction created to increase interest and sales backfires humongously.

Enter the new star of the movie franchise, Indominus Rex, a creation of the park's geneticists through a genetically modified hybrid mutant dinosaur created from the DNA of Giganotosaurus, Rugops, Majungsaurus and Carnotaurus. The hybrid escapes and goes on a deadly rampage.

Bryce Dallas Howard ("The Help") plays Claire Dearing, the park's operations manager. Her nephews Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gary (Ty Simpkins) are visiting when the Indominus Rex escapes. It is now up to Owen and the Jurassic World's security team to contain the hybrid before it can wreak more havoc.

Steven Spielberg, director of the original "Jurassic Park" and its sequel "The Lost World," returns to executive produce the film. He hand-picked Colin Teverrow to direct.

Producer Frank Marshall said in 2012 that Jurassic Park would still rely on animatronic dinosaurs despite the advancement in technology over the last decade.

Initially intended to begin production in 2004 for a summer 2005 release, the movie was pushed back several times as the script went through numerous revisions.
