Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole new album 2016 news update: Dreamville president gives vague update on the project

Fans have been scrambling for months trying to find out if any new info has come up about the Kendrick Lamar–J.Cole collaboration album, but no official news has come up. In a recent interview, the president of Dreamville, Ibrahim Hamad, tries to give an update on the project, but it only seems to leave fans a bit more confused.

While guesting on Rap Radar, Hamad had this to say when he was asked about the album: "Cole is Cole and he knows what he's doing. He has his ways of getting things done and I think that at the end of it all, it'll be way worth it... Whatever he had planned in February, whatever it is, it'll be way more worth it if people just like, know that he, he's kinda like a mad scientist with his thing. He's like a little mad scientist."

Even without the comments from Hamad, it looks like the two are simply too busy with their own schedules to make time to produce a collab album together. Lamar has been trying to deal with legal cases that have been filed against him for stealing music. One case is for allegedly copying music from Bill Withers' song, "Don't You Want to Stay," and another copyright infringement case on Sameerah Satterthwaite's "Revolutionary Women."

J. Cole, on the other hand, seems to be keener in doing a collaboration with Drake. Lamar — aside from his legal battles — also has collaborations with artists like Mac Miller and DJ Khaled planned.

With the project seemingly going nowhere, fans will just have to sit down and wait for the two to finish whatever they're doing as of the moment. Lamar and Cole won't be busy forever, so fans can just sit patiently and wait for time to find the two working together.
