Kickass Torrents (KAT) is back on business after a tumultuous couple of months thanks to its loyal staffers choosing to stay behind the popular file sharing site.

Back in July, the alleged owner of the site, Artem Vaulin, was taken into custody of the Poland police after being charged with four counts of U.S. criminal indictment. With the trial still ongoing, the domain was suddenly taken down online, which left its users to resort to other alternatives. Now, after quite some time, the Kickass Torrents website is returning and more determined than ever to keep the website accessible to the public.

"Majority of our original Staff, Admins and Moderation team joined us after Kat.cr went down — which is something we're very proud of. This shows the loyalty, dedication and real love for KAT that we all share," the team behind the resurrection of the site told Torrent Freak. "We have all our major uploaders on board, and they continued to share tirelessly even before the torrent engines returned. The torrent community can continue to expect to see uploads from all the names they know and trust."

The team members that now take care of the operations of Kickass Torrents are actually crew members of the old site who refused to give up on their work. Soon after the file-sharing domain was shut down, they regrouped and got in touch with one other via the Katcr.co forum. Since then, they have constantly teased that they will be bringing the old site back in action sometime soon, but arguably, no one has seen it coming that they will be able to pull it off without a major hiccup. Although they do admit that it took them longer to make sure that the members are safe and the community can use the site without having to worry about catching a bug or malware.

Needless to say, there is still work ahead for the new domain to be back in its old flawless form, which at one time became the number one used site across the internet even surpassing the likes of The Pirate Bay. But the KAT crew is adamant that they will continue to provide support until the users need them and the site.

"Servers Load have been affected, there are other few sources of this issue, it's not just one. We are working to fix this as soon as possible. One thing is for sure, we are not going anywhere," they reiterated.
