'Kingdom Come: Deliverance' Release Date Delay News: Medieval Game Features No Dragons But Stunning Vistas
The release date of the new Kickstarter-funded game "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" has been pushed back to next year. Game developer Warhorse Studios has indicated its plan to make the game larger than it was originally intended to be. It has gone ahead and released several screenshots for the game showing more of the medieval locales that it is set in.
The screenshots revealed interesting points focusing on the stunning vistas that players will get to roam around in the role-playing game. In this particular medieval game, there aren't going to be any dragons, which have quickly become a staple in many such offerings.
Instead the game is going to explore the period in and around1403. It is going to involve players in more mundane tasks like forging weapons and distilling alcohol. There are also indications that a number of smaller games would be included in the main game, and each would allow players to earn skills. Also players will get to don different types of armor and deck out each with various tools and weapons. This will change how they are perceived by other characters in the game.
"Kingdom Come: Deliverance" was originally scheduled for release in December of this year. It received over $2.3 million funds on Kickstarter, easily surpassing its initial goal of $300,000.
In announcing the delay, Jiri Rydl from Warhorse said the team is making great progress in the game every month but needed some more time to finish it.
The developer also stated that it had shifted to a new location and had even built a motion capture studio for the game.
As for the technical alpha of "Kingdom Come: Deliverance," it is due to land within three months. Those who backed the game with $45 and above on Kickstarter will get a chance to participate in it. This will be followed by a beta later in the year which Warhorse stated could be released on Steam Early Access to get feedback from players.
