'Kingdom Hearts 3' release date, news: Secret message in illustrations revealed; Sora gets upgrade
Square Enix's "Kingdom Hearts 3" is a game that many have been waiting for but until now, details regarding it are still kept under wraps. Fortunately, not everything about it is concealed. Game director Tetsuya Nomura teased some tidbits of information regarding the upcoming game.
For starters, the title is currently in its development stage. Fans have gotten so few updates on the game's existence that some thought it would not push through. But Nomura assured fans that "Kingdom Hearts 3" is coming and it's release date is going to be revealed soon —but not too soon though as the developers still have to release its prologue title, "Kingdom Hearts 2.8."
Reports said that Nomura is assigned to direct both titles so his attention is fairly divided. Nonetheless, Nomura divulged during this year's E3 convention that the third installment of the game franchise is going to be a big one. He also mentioned that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will have a connection to "Kingdom Hearts 2.8."
Reports also said that Nomura and his team have incorporated a secret message for its fans through the package art of three games, "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix," "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix," and "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue."
"There are actually two secrets about the illustrations from [KH1.5] until [KH2.8]. Extremely attentive KH fans might have already discovered them," Nomura said in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation.
He pointed the movements of protagonist Sora as well as the flow of time in each game's art. He added, "Those three illustrations have a message regarding the final chapter, (KH III)."
Fans can expect lots of fun to come in "Kingdom Hearts 3" soon. It's going to be packed with new Disney characters and more Disney-themed realms. There is no announcement regarding the date of release yet but it will be out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
