Years after her split-up with "Twilight" franchise co-star and real-life boyfriend Robert Pattinson, "Snow White and the Huntsman" star Kristen Stewart opened up about the relationship, revealing that their romance was a "product" and "wasn't real life."

The Kristen Stewart–Robert Pattinson romance, or RobSten as it was dubbed by fans, was one of the hottest celebrity pairings of the early 2010s, coinciding with the popularity of the "Twilight" film franchise. The pair reportedly began dating in 2008, but it wasn't until 2012 that Stewart publicly acknowledged her relationship with her co-star. Unfortunately, her first public acknowledgement of the romance was brought on by the cheating scandal that erupted after she was photographed kissing "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, who was, at the time, married to model/actress Liberty Ross.

Stewart and Pattinson reportedly reconciled after the controversy but had separated by 2014. Now, the two have moved on with new loves. Pattinson is currently engaged to singer/songwriter FKA Twigs while, in July, Stewart confirmed that she is dating Alicia Cargile, her former assistant.

Stewart's newfound openness about her current relationship seems to indicate that she has finally shaken off the ghost of her previous relationship. In an interview with T Magazine, she spoke candidly about her time with Pattinson, saying, "People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product."

"It wasn't real life anymore," she added. "And that was gross to me."

According to Stewart, it wasn't that she wanted to hide her relationship, it was just that she didn't want to be a part of a story merely for its entertainment value.

In July, the actress opened up to Elle UK about how dating a woman has changed her outlook on relationships. According to her, when she was dating a man, she wanted to hide the relationship so that it wouldn't be trivialized. But when she began dating a woman, "I was like, 'Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I'm not down with it or I'm ashamed of it,' so I had to alter how I approached being in public."

"It opened my life up and I'm so much happier," she said.

Meanwhile, sources tell E! News that Pattinson is in a similarly positive place in his relationship with his fiancée. According to an insider, the two have a "special connection" "music is a big part of the relationship, because it means so much to them."

"They clicked instantly and they literally have been inseparable,"
