Louisiana Governor and 2016 GOP presidential hopeful Bobby Jindal has spoken out in criticism of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the personal email scandal that plagued her earlier this year.

Speaking in Muscatine, Iowa recently, Jindal suggested that Clinton's previous email scandal leaves her "one email away from prison time."

The former Secretary of State announced over the weekend that she will be turning over her private computer used during her time as Secretary of State for federal investigation. Earlier this year, Clinton received criticism for sending emails from that private server while working in a government position, raising questions of transparency and commitment to government security.

Jindal followed up on Clinton's recent move, saying in Iowa that the former First Lady "is already under investigation by the FBI."

"Now she's signed a sworn affidavit to a federal judge, under penalty of perjury, that she has handed over all of her government business emails, which means that she's one email away from prison time," Jindal continued, adding jokingly that "She'd better pray the Chinese government doesn't do a document dump."

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also said Clinton's decision to turn over the server was a "welcome development," but remained skeptical.

"It's a welcome development, but it's hard to believe that the Clinton private server and the thumb drives in the possession of Ms. Clinton's personal lawyer have just recently been turned over to the authorities," Grassley said, adding "That's a long time for top secret classified information to be held by an unauthorized person outside of an approved, secure government facility."
