LA Lakers NBA Trade Rumors, Latest News: Is Beasley Going To Be In? Bryant To Up His Game
The Los Angeles Lakers have had a very busy schedule over the past week, working things out with players such as Michael Beasley and a few others they may look to add to their roster.
In a report from USA Today, Greg Stiemsma, Dexter Pittman, Daniel Orton, Bobby Brown, Toney Douglas, Ben Hansbrough and Malcolm Lee are all players potentially on the Lakers radar.
The Lakers have also been dealing with Michael Beasley, but there's no official word on the deal yet. The team has been trying to make a deal with Beasley since earlier this year in July, but a final deal has never been able to be worked out as yet.
However, some people don't think adding Beasley to the Lakers' roster is the best idea; Donald Wood of the Bleacher Report is one of the people who feels it wouldn't be the best course of action for the Lakers in the free-agent market. Right now, the Lakers have a 13 man roster, with only 2 more spots left to fill out.
Meanwhile, LA Lakers mainstay Kobe Bryant is reported to be trying to play his games similar to how Paul Pierce does. Despite his age, Pierce has been an effective player for Boston Celtics and this is something that Bryant needs to learn too.
According to Chris Ballard of Sport Illustrated:
"In preparing for this season, Bryant told friends that the player he is analyzing, as an example of adjusting your game as you get older, is fellow 36-year-old Paul Pierce. This is part of his goal to become 'more efficient' on the court.
"I'm going to max [my last two years] out too, to do whatever I can. Leave no stone unturned, no water left in the sponge."
This would mean that in order to become more effective inside the court, he needs to be more creative and practical with his approach.
"I'll be sharper. Much sharper. Much more efficient in areas. I'll be limited in terms of what you see me do, versus a couple years ago. But very, very methodical, very, very purposeful."
