'Last of Us 2' release date, rumors and updates: Game said to come out in June 2018?
Naughty Dog has just recently ended its "Uncharted" franchise with "A Thief's End," but now fans are wondering when they will be releasing an update for their 2013 hit game, "The Last of Us." The game is already reportedly under development and fans can expect it to be released in 2018.
According to reports, work has just started on "The Last of Us 2," so it will be a while before fans get a finished product. Others have said that the reason for the delay was because the developers were pulled out of work on "The Last of Us 2" so that they could finish the "Uncharted 4" downloadable content (DLC).
According to OfficialBrosCode on Youtube, news on the game was actually supposed to come out during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year, but the magazine that was supposed to publish the news pulled out the article since Naughty Dog decided to postpone the announcement of "The Last of Us 2."
The game is said to focus on a more seasoned and violent Ellie who was taught skills by Joel. The game is also said to take a five-year time jump, making Ellie about 19 years old. Interestingly enough, if the game was to be released in 2018, the time jump would have occurred in real time as "The Last of Us" was released back in 2013.
Based on the leaked magazine info, the game will have a snowy setting since promotional art had Ellie dressed in winter clothes. There's also artwork on icy looking areas, and some expect that they will function very much like the snow-ridden areas in the first game.
As of now, no official announcements have been made for "The Last of Us 2," but fans should expect an announcement from Naughty Dog sometime soon.
"The Last of Us 2" is expected to come out in June 2018.
