The lead vocalist for a Christian rock group is reportedly recovering at home after undergoing surgery to remove an "aggressive" cancer from his kidney.

Mark Hall, the lead singer of Casting Crowns, announced via his band's Facebook page earlier this month that he would be undergoing surgery to remove a mass from his right kidney that doctors said was mostly like cancerous.

Hall's wife, Melanie, then took to the band's Facebook page this week to announce that the surgery had gone well and that Hall was able to leave the hospital and return home to heal.

"Praise the Lord! We are heading home! Wahoo! Mark turned a corner yesterday and had a good night last night. We think we've figured out how to manage his pain at home. He had his first meal today since chips and salsa last Monday night. Time to head to the house," Melanie shared on the Casting Crowns Facebook page.

Hall confirmed that doctors had found a solid mass on his right kidney on March 5.

"Doctors found a solid mass in my right kidney about a week ago. They are 90% sure it's cancer and they are going to remove the entire kidney next Wednesday, March 11th. They believe the cancer is contained in the kidney, which is also a great hope. They will know more once it is out and Pathology can see it," Hall announced earlier this month.

Luckily for Hall, a pathology report on the cancer mass found that although the growth was "aggressive," it had not spread beyond Hall's right kidney.

"The pathology report confirms that the tumor was indeed kidney cancer but it was fully encased. The findings of the report confirm that the cancer had not spread to the kidney or anywhere else. Glory Hallelujah! It was found in the earliest stage possible. For those of you that are more familiar with these type reports, it was labeled stage T1a," Melanie announced via Facebook.
