After confirming the premiere date of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2, the show's executive producer, Marc Guggenheim said they would use a different approach in revealing the big bad of the upcoming season. This is a far cry from the maiden season where Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), the team's antagonist, was introduced from the get-go.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Guggenheim hinted at how the second season villain will be introduced, saying it would follow the precedent of "Arrow" and "The Flash."

"Unlike season 1 of 'Legends', where we basically had the big bad introduced in the crossover, what we're going to do in season 2 of 'Legends' will be more similar to what you've experienced in the first three seasons of Arrow or the first two seasons of Flash, where it's more of a slow reveal and a little bit of a mystery," he told EW.

It would be remembered that Hourman/Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams) was introduced in season 1's finale. He even gave the team a cryptic warning. His addition puts into perspective the slow approach that the team would take in unraveling the mystery behind the involvement of the Justice Society of America (JSA) and why Rex was sent back in time.

If the identity of second season's villain would be revealed as it progresses, then the Legends team might not be squaring off with the Thanagarians.

Nevertheless, fans could expect that the team would get plenty of help this season from new characters who are set to join the series. Among these are John Wesley Shipp who would be playing Jay Garrick, the Golden Age Flash; Nick Zano who would play Dr. Nate Heywood/Citizen Steel, Hourman, and Vixen.

Moreover, Sportsrageous said that instead of having the Legends team chase the villain from one time period to another, a new villain would wreak havoc each episode.

"Legends of Tomorrow" season 2 will premiere on Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
