'Lethal Weapon' season 1 episode 13 spoilers: Riggs, Murtaugh hunt down godly vigilante in 'The Seal is Broken'
Someone's out to punish sinners in the next episode of "Lethal Weapon." However, this will not be the only thing that bothers Riggs (Clayne Crawford) when a brand new week swings by for FOX's hit buddy cop series.
LAPD's good cop and crazy good cop will be sent to investigate a series of violent crimes involving the parishioners of the same church in an episode titled "The Seal is Broken." With the first death anniversary of his wife Miranda (Floriana Lima) hanging over his head, Riggs will be dealing with far more personal moral dilemmas in addition to unmasking their holy vigilante.
After almost drowning and losing his wedding ring in water in the previous episode, Riggs' subsequent conversation with police psychologist Dr. Cahill (Jordana Brewster) seemed to have hinted that he was ready to move on. But his eventual visit to the pawnshop to buy a replacement ring spoke volumes of his inability to let that one solid connection with his wife go. How will Riggs deal with Miranda's first death anniversary? Will dealing with it finally give him that much-needed closure, or will it end up burying him deeper into his suppressed grief?
In the trailer for the next episode, Riggs and his partner Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) unlocks the seal to a boiler room covered with photos of the killer's victims, framed by lighted candles as though in an altar built to pray for their corrupted souls. They seem to also suspect a priest in one scene, who could well be a person of interest for being privy to his parishioners' confessions.
But can a priest really be so passionate about his vocation that he would resort to murder those who do not choose the path of good? If not, then who's playing God, jury, and executioner?
