LG G Flex 2 vs HTC One (M8) Review: Comparison of Specs, Price and Features - Beautiful Smartphones Battle It Out
While the upcoming G Flex 2 from LG has a stunning curved body and the latest specs, the HTC One (M8) has a beautiful design, great specs and a dual lens depth-sensing camera which made it one of the best phones of 2014.
Design
The curved body of the G Flex 2 means that it is largely made of plastic. It has a self-healing coating on its back which can remove small nicks within 10 seconds. Its predecessor, the G Flex, also has a self-healing coating, but small cuts take much longer to heal. As for the HTC One (M8), it has a premium unibody aluminum frame which is both smooth and sophisticated.
Display
Coming to its display, the HTC One (M8) has a Super LCD3 screen measuring 5.0 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch. The G Flex 2 has a curved P-OLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 403 pixels per inch.
Specs
Both devices run the Android OS, but the G Flex 2 comes loaded with 5.0.1 Lollipop while the HTC One (M8) comes with 4.4.2 KitKat that can be upgraded to 5.0 Lollipop. The HTC One (M8) has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, coupled with a quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU in the US and EMEA, and Adreno 330 GPU. The G Flex 2, on the other hand, has the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU and Adreno 430 GPU.
Cameras
While the G Flex 2 has a 13 megapixel camera at its rear, the HTC One (M8) has a 4 ultra pixel camera with dual lens and bigger pixels that allow it to take great photos even in low light situations. As for their front facing cameras, the G Flex 2 has a 2.1 megapixel version while the HTC One (M8) has a 5 megapixel version.
Price
Finally in terms of price, the G Flex 2 could cost between $700-$737, while the HTC One (M8) costs around $669 without a two-year contract.
