LG G Pad 8.0 Review: Impressive Specs and Excellent Battery Life Should Attract Users
LG now offers an 8-inch tablet with excellent battery life—the LG G Pad 8.0!
This 8-inch touchscreen phone is comfortable to hold because of its rounded edges. It has a plastic body that has been roughened slightly to give users a good grip of the device. The phone is available in white, black, orange and blue.
As for the performance, the LG G Pad 8.0's power comes from its Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8226 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and supported by a 1 GB RAM. The graphics is powered by a Qualcomm Adreno 305.
Just like other tablets, this tab's 4,200 mAh battery is not removable. It can be recharged via its micro-USB 2.0 port. The device also supports OTG, which allows it to connect external input devices such as USB sticks.
The internal storage is 16 GB, although it is expandable to up to 64 GB though the microSD slot.
The tablet comes equipped with the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat for its mobile operating system. It also has software features such as the Knock Code, QPair and QuickRemote. There are other third party apps that users can easily delete when not needed.
The tablet has two cameras—a front-facing 1.3 MP cam and a 5 MP rear camera. Not much if you ask us, but it should be good enough for selfies and basic picture taking. Because of the low resolution, it results in lack of sharpness and blurry to muddy photos. However, when taken in places with good lighting, colors can be very intense and the pictures look vivid.
Although the specs of the LG G Pad 8.0 are good enough, its rivals may have more to offer. This tab is recommended for home use only. Considering its technical specs, we advise gamers to keep their hands off it.
